Where to Get Free Meals in Grand Junction From the Lunch Lizard
Hundreds of hungry kids in Mesa County are being fed by the Lunch Lizard, and here's where you can find free meals for your kids.
Mesa County School District 51's Lunch Lizard program is entering its second year of feeding hungry kids during the summer. Last year, the Lunch Lizard served 160 hot meals per day during the summer, totaling more than 4,000 meals served.
This year, a second Lunch Lizard food truck has been purchased thanks to community donations, which is allowing the program to expand from five locations to 12, including six new locations in the Clifton area, where free and reduced lunch rates run as high as 90%.
The Lunch Lizard program is made possible by a number of local organizations led by the Western Colorado Community Foundation.
Here's where to find the Lunch Lizard Monday through Friday during the months of June and July.(except July 1-5, and Rocky Mountain Elementary location noted below)
