Tropical Drink Rolls Into Western Colorado at Unbeatable Price

A delicious tropical drink has just rolled into Western Colorado, and it's available to you at the whopping price of exactly one dollar. Behold, the Bahama Mama.

Each month a chain restaurant with a couple of locations in Western Colorado offers an adult beverage to the tune of $1. The featured drink for July is a new one to me. For your cooling off pleasure, Applebee's Grill and Bar offers the Malibu Dollarmama.

Admittedly, I have yet to sample any of their monthly drinks. I keep saying I will, and then fail to follow through. This time around I'm not going to make the effort. Sorry, but they lost me at coconut.

What's in a Bahama Mama? According to allrecipes.com, a Bahama Mama includes:

• rum
• coconut-flavored rum
• grenadine syrup
• orange juice
• pineapple juice
• crushed ice

Please note: The ingredients listed above may not reflect those used by Applebee's. According to Applebee's Facebook page, their Bahama Mama includes Malibu Coconut and white rum.

If coconut is your thing, and if you enjoy rum, this may very well be your summer drink. The price of $1 is certainly hard to beat. In this case, I'll have to take your word for it when it comes to the quality of the drink. My tastes don't include rum or coconut. When it comes to the July featured drink, I'm going to sit this one out.
