Six Spots to Swim This Summer
Summertime in Grand Junction, Colorado means it's time to take a dip. Here are six places to go swimming this Summer.
Highline Lake
Highline Lake is a beautiful place where you can swim fish, kayak, jet ski and more. I've been fishing here and next time I'll be bringing my swimsuit.
Fruita Community Center
The Fruita Community Center has an outdoor pool equipped with 5 lanes, diving board and a area for small children. What is really impressive is the indoor pool area. This area includes a 5 lane pool, diving board, hot tub, an area for small children, aqua climbing wall, slide, lazy river AND vortex!
Island Acres
Swimming is allowed in the Island Acres swim area of James M. Robb Colorado River State Park. With a name like Island Acres, it sounds like paradise. Camping, fishing, biking and hunting are allowed in other areas of the park.
Blue Mesa Reservoir
The Blue Mesa Reservoir is the largest body of water in Colorado. A few beaches include Old Highway 50 Beach and Dry Creek. The reservoir is in the Curecanti National Recreation Area and is well known for its sparkling blue water.
Lincoln Park-Moyer Public Pool
Moyer Public Pool is located within Lincoln Park. This place has an outdoor pool, a huge waterslide, diving board and concession area. There's also a golf course next door.
Orchard Mesa Community Center Pool
The Orchard Mesa Pool is an indoor, Z shaped pool. There is an indoor waterslide and a hot tub.I enjoy switching from the pool to the hot tub, going from hot to cold is good for you.
