2020 was a year that we saw cancellations left and right because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cancellations included concerts, events, and festivals that are considered staples in Western Colorado. However, it has just been announced that the annual Palisade Peach Festival will be returning in 2021.

The annual Palisade Peach Festival is one of the most popular festivals in Western Colorado and will be taking place this year from August 19th through the 21st.

The festivities begin on Thursday, August 19th with an ice cream social and street dance and 'The Biggest Peach Contest.' These events will be followed by 'Feast in the Fields,' music on the Peach Jam Stage, and orchard farm tours on both Friday, August 20th, and Saturday, August 21st.

Saturday, August 21st is when the Palisade Peach Festival really kicks into gear, with events like the 'Just Peachy Run,' a pancake breakfast, The Peach Festival Parade, The Peach Festival Car Show, The Peach Cuisine, The Backyard Peach Barbecue Throwdown, and the ever-popular peach eating contest.

The Palisade Chamber Board of Directors, Dave Smith had this to say about the festival returning in 2021:

Everyone is looking forward to the return of the valley’s favorite festivals, our peach festival is certainly one of the most anticipated. At this time, as we work within the guidelines, it looks like it will be the peachful celebration you know and love.

Immediately following the Palisade Peach Festival on Sunday, August 22nd, the town's farmers market will open.

While numerous events during the Peach Festival have already been put into place, others may soon be added to the roster.
