Best Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks On the Western Slope

'Tis the season to embrace the cold, snowy weather. Nothing like a warm cup of cocoa before stepping onto a beautiful ice rink surrounded by the loveliness of the Colorado Mountains.

Keystone Resort

Keystone not only has one, but two ice skating rinks to enjoy. Picture a Hallmark Movie where everything is perfect and every face has a smile on it. That's ice skating at Keystone, but this isn't a fiction movie you'd be in, it's the real deal.

Winter Park

The magnificent outdoor Village Ice Rink in Winter Park is one of my favorites. So gorgeous, and truly brings the magic of the season altogether. Open until 10 p.m. daily and if you need ice skating lessons, no worries. Lessons are free.

Ouray Rotary Park Ice Rink

This is a volunteer-run by Rocky Mountain ice rink. The surrounding beauty of Ouray will have you in awe as you skate around and enjoying every minute. Absolutely ideal rink to be delighting in during this season.

Beaver Creek

This family-friendly ice rink in Beaver Creek is posh and well taken care of. Chocolate Chip Cookies that will warm your heart after working off a ton of calories are available. During certain times there is also disco skating available.

Crested Butte

Simple, easy, and oh so pretty in Crested Butte. Glide on the well-groomed ice that is sure to make you feel good that you took the time to visit this gem. So worth it.

The majority of all the rinks have rentals available but for safety always be sure to call and check on the times, rules, and availability to rent.
