13 Year Old Palisade Girl Arrested For Threat On Social Media

A social media threat ended up in the arrest of a 13 year old Palisade girl by Mount Garfield Middle School resource officers 

A 13-year-old Palisade girl is facing charges related to felony menacing, unlawful possession of a firearm by a juvenile, interference with students at a school and harassment according to a report from KKCO.

According to Police, the students at the school told the administrators that the girl posted a threat on social media related to her having a gun, and threatened to use it at school.

A search and interviews were conducted prior to the girl's arrest.

Investigators did not find a weapon, and the images were removed from Facebook.

Authorities did not release the girl's identity due to privacy regulations. An investigation remains underway.

The girl is currently being held for processing by deputies and is expected to be booked into the local youth detention facility.
