Vandals Leave Peach Valley Recreation Area a Lot Less Peachy
The Peach Valley Recreational Site, which is a part of the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area, is considerably less beautiful thanks to those who vandalized the site.
The site is a popular access point for many people who use the trails in the conservation area for hiking, biking, horse-back riding, and Off-Highway vehicle travel and camping.
On or about November 27, 2016, someone spray painted graffiti on the Peach Valley facilities and now the Bureau of Land Management and Montrose Regional Crime Stoppers are asking for help locating the person or persons responsible.
Local and federal law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the crime. They are offering a $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
Information can be submitted by calling Montrose Regional Crime Stoppers at 970-249-8500. Reporting through Crime Stoppers is anonymous.
Reports can also be made using the P3 Tips app which also guarantees the tipster remains anonymous.
