Vandalism at Colorado Governor’s Mansion Over the Weekend

While I understand being frustrated with our government or even local politicians, I will never understand why some people think they have the right to vandalize property.

That is exactly what took place over the weekend in Denver. KKTV is reporting, the mansion where Governor Jared Polis and his family live was just one of many homes that were vandalized. The Denver Police Department has an open investigation attempting to find those responsible for the vandalism over the weekend.

It sounds like the suspects targeted one specific neighborhood in Denver the Cheesman Park neighborhood. With specific sentences or phrases written across garage doors across the area which included:

• "Whoa, nice house bro, gentrifiers"
• "Abolish police"
• "Police make white people feel safe from minorities"

There was an anarchist "A" that was spray-painted outside of the Colorado governor's mansion. It seems as though all the damage done over the weekend in Denver was done with graffiti.

There Was a Protest That Took Place on Saturday in Denver Before the Vandalism

Before the vandalism, there were peaceful protests that took place downtown Denver for 20-year-old Daunte Wright, a Black man shot in Brooklyn Heights, Minn., and 13-year-old Adam Toledo, who was shot outside of Chicago.

Some of the graffiti featured the name "Adam Toledo" and "He was only 13 years old, say his name" written on a wall across the street from the governor's mansion. But police have no connection between the protest that took place and the vandalism over the weekend in Denver.
