Thinking about running in one of those 5Ks where you are forced to run and crawl through mud? Might want to reconsider, people are getting sick from them.

A recent article in the Washington Post stated that the growing trend of competitive obstacle course running now involves running and falling in the mud and catching a mouth full of animal feces.

The CDC recently discovered that at a 2012 Tough Mudder race, 22 racers became sick with diarrhea after swallowing mud that contained cattle or swine feces and were infected with Campylobacter coli

This bacteria can bring on a week of diarrhea, fever, cramping and other lovely side effects.

This is why you need to run  the Insane Inflatable 5K, you won't get wet, you don't have to run through mud or jump through fire. What you will have is a great time running through giant obstacles, bouncing in giant bounce houses and enjoying a nice cold beer at the end.

It offers up big challenges and fun without having to get tore up, or throw away your outfit, or even get sick!  That's right people have gotten sick from these mud runs.
