Perfect Trail for First Time Hikers in Grand Junction
Let me be the first one to tell you I am not an experienced hiker, click here for proof, but I do enjoy it and have been on many of the trails here in Western Colorado. Some of my favorites being the Palisade Rim Trail or the Liberty Cap Trail but there are so many trails that I haven't tried yet.
Since there is a long list of trails I still want to check off the list I decided yesterday was as good as a day as any to get outdoors. The sun was shining and there are plenty of trails within a few miles from my house. So I picked one that many people have mentioned to me before which is Lunch Loops.
This is the hike that you see many people on when driving to the Colorado National Monument from the Redlands entrance, the trailhead is off Monument Road. And everything about this trail is perfect for the first time hiker here in Western Colorado.
The parking lot is clearly marked, easy to see, and large enough for plenty of hikers and people enjoying the BMX jumps. The trails are clearly marked and easy to navigate. You will find at numerous parts around the trail there are beautiful views to stop and take a picture. Plus the trail never gets too difficult so this really is a good trail for people just getting started with their hiking adventures.
I can talk about it all day, but looking at photos will better explain what I am talking about:
