The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival is a fun way for Coloradans to help area non-profit organizations and support local businesses and agriculture.

The Olathe Sweet Corn festival is August 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Olathe Community Park. The festival includes free grilled Olathe sweet corn, a variety of vendors, corn and corn dog eating contests, a dance contest, archery, and games for kids. There will also be live music by Durango native, Tyller Gummersall, and Nashville recording artist James Otto.

There is a 5K Donut Dash at 7:30 a.m. before the gates open. All participants will get a donut per mile that they run at the end of the race. Jill can be contacted at or 970-261-5843 for more information on the Donut Dash.

The mission statement on The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival's website says "The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival is an organization which provides an annual fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations while promoting local businesses and the area’s agricultural community." August is Colorado Proud Month, which is a month dedicated to encouraging Coloradans to support and buy local.
