For those that may be heading to Wyoming to see a truly total solar eclipse, you are being put on notice to leave your marijuana at home.

The message comes from the Wyoming Association of Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police. Recreational pot is not legal in Wyoming and apparently, it's not going to be tolerated - even for a once-in-a blue-moon opportunity.

According to The Cannabist, Coloradoans are being reminded that the use and possession of marijuana in Wyoming is illegal. Under Wyoming law, possession of under three ounces of pot is a misdemeanor, while over three ounces is a felony, which could be punishable with up to 12 months in a jail for a first time offender.  By the way, it is not allowed even if you have a medical marijuana card.

Since Wyoming falls directly in the path of eclipse totality, they are expecting huge crowds of visitors, and figure a good chunk of them will be from the mile high state. They probably don't realize that not everyone living in Colorado is a toker.

So if you are heading to Wyoming for Monday's big event, be sure and leave the weed.
