Grand Junction Man Arrested for Apparently Threatening Woman with Knife
A Grand Junction man was arrested for apparently threatening a woman with a knife.
Mesa County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to 540 29 Road in Grand Junction after a 911 call was received about an assault occurring at the residence.
Upon arriving, deputies made contact with 33-year-old Shane Whittaker of Grand Junction who refused to speak to authorities due to an active Contempt of Court warrant out on him.
Deputies contacted the victim who stated Whittaker had choked her and threatened her with a large butcher knife.
Whittaker was arrested and charged with Felony Menacing, Second Degree Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Assault in the 3rd Degree and Contempt of Court. He remains in custody at the Mesa County Detention Facility.
