Studies show that obesity is growing across the country. It is this effecting adults, along with kids and teens. The amount of fat in your system is called your BMI, or Body Mass Index, and it is on the rise. Newser, reports that the later you stay up, your body fat increases. The New York Times agrees.

The research shows that 3300 adolescents and adults were monitored for a period between 1994 and 2009. What did they find?

The study showed a two-point BMI increase for every hour later a subject stayed up on weeknight. This amount was large enough shift to take a person from normal to overweight or overweight to obese. That is a serious problem.

The theory is that most people who stay up later eat more junk food, and more than likely do not eat breakfast. Also, that if the person sleeps in later to make up for the late hours, that their body mass still increased over time.

By going to bed earlier, and getting your required amount of sleep. Your body will regulate better, and those who suffer from anxiety will also see an improvement in symptoms.

So set your DVR's and get some rest! Your body will thank you for it.
