Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation have executed search warrants at the Grand Junction Regional Airport.

In a statement to KKCO, FBI Public Information Officer Dave Joly stated, "Today, the FBI and Department of Transportation are executing a Federal Court-authorized search warrant at the Grand Junction Airport in furtherance of an ongoing investigation into allegations of fraud, not into operations at the airport."

Joly told the Daily Sentinel that the FBI and the U.S. Department of Transportation are involved in executing the warrant, which was done so at the airport’s administrative offices at 743 Horizon Court in Grand Junction. Joly declined to into further detail about the warrant or the investigation.

KKCO reports the search warrants were originally planned to be executed in private, but FBI agents are now conducting some of their work in the main terminal building.

Joly told KKCO that public safety and TSA will not be affected by the investigations. Joly also told the Sentinel that no arrests have been made, nor does he expect any to be made today.
