Apparently, there are 10 Sheriffs, from Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas that are trying to sue the State of Colorado for legalizing the recreational use of marijuana in 2012. They are standing on the grounds that it violates Federal law and shouldn't be permitted.

These Sheriffs are working in tandem with lawyers from Nebraska and Kansas, in an attempt to get the amendment nullified. This is just the most recent attempt at the new amendment. The State of Kansas and Nebraska has separately appealed to the Supreme Court to nullify the amendment. The Supreme Court has not yet accepted or responded to these claims.

I'm going to start off this next paragraph by stating that I do not recreationally, nor medically use marijuana. However, should the Supreme court strike down this amendment, I would see that as a huge red flag. I know I'm usually a pretty fun and goofy guy, but the idea of the Federal Government overruling something that American citizens voted on, is extremely disturbing to me.

By the way, if you're one of the people trying to hustle marijuana across the Colorado/Nebraska border, you should know that you're going to get caught and charged to the fullest extent of the law. So, don't be stupid, people.

That being said, I really don't think the Supreme Court is going to override this. I think that the snowball has started and it's only a matter of time before marijuana is legal throughout the states. I don't use it so I don't really care, as long as the stoners stay out of my way in the taco line!
