A Boulder company is set to make the move to Grand Junction. Have you heard of RockyMounts? If you're a bike enthusiast, you probably have.

RockyMounts builds hitch racks, rooftop racks, chain locks, cable locks, padlocks, and a handful of other items. According to their official webpage, their products are distributed by Absolute Bikes, Bike America, Bike Barn, and hundreds of other locations around the country. Grand Junction stores REI and Bicycle Outfitters also carry their products.

Where in the valley do they plan to locate? According to Bicycle Retailer, RockyMounts will make its home in a new business park being developed specifically for companies targeting the outdoor industry.

How did this move come about? The company's president, Bobby Noyes, met with reps from the Grand Junction Economic Partnership earlier in 2018.

There was a dynamic energy that was reminiscent of my early years launching this business. I saw an opportunity to be a part of a growing and vibrant community here in Grand Junction, build the headquarters I had always dreamed of, and to contribute to the improved quality of life for myself, my employees, and the like-minded souls that call the Western Slope home." - Bobby Noyes in Bicycle Retailer

I'm always excited to hear about employment opportunities in the valley. A good friend of mine is a highly trained machinist and a bike enthusiast. He stopped by the studio on Tuesday to let me know he's looking to begin the search for a new gig. There's no doubt in my mind he'll be excited to hear about this.

In the meantime, RockyMounts is allocating $30,000 to construct a park amenity at Las Colonias Park. A grand opening event is planned for RockyMounts in the fall of 2019.
