The Thursday downtown Grand Junction farmers market is back and there are lots of new things happening this year.

For starters, the name has changed. It's now called the Market on Main. It's a subtle change, but the new name reflects the diversity of the market, which over the years has evolved into much more than just a farmers market. In addition to all of the farmers, you'll find non-profit booths, live entertainment, and a variety of food vendors.

Speaking of farmers, this year's market will feature no less than 30 farmers, though not necessarily all at the same time. That means over the summer months you will find an abundance of cherries, peaches, sweet corn, green beans, tomatoes, and a host of other fresh produce.

Something new this year will be Kids Nights.  On selected market nights, vendors will have special fun activities for kids which will truly make it a great family night out. The schedule of Kids Nights will be on the downtown website.

This will be the 2nd year for the Food Truck Court. In the 600 block of Main Street you will find a variety of food trucks each week. That makes it extra convenient to come downtown, enjoy some entertainment, a little shopping, and you can have a quick, easy dinner while you're there.

Finally, you need to know about Rhythm and Brews, the Rockslide's summer concert series which happens four Thursday's during the summer beginning with June 20. On these dates, there will be a four-block beer garden from 3rd to 7th during the entire market and live music at 4th and Main from 7:30pm until 10:30pm. This week's concert features Morph Roots and Zolopht.

What you can be sure of, is every week will be a little different at the Market on Main. Come once, come twice - or come every week- but whatever you do, come on down and enjoy some Grand Junction fun this summer.
