Winter Storm Warning and Avalanche Watches For Grand Valley

If you are planning travel over the next few days, or have relatives traveling into Grand Junction. Mother Nature could cause you some travel trouble.The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued Winter Storm Warnings and Avalanche Watches and Warnings for areas in the Grand Valley.

The Grand and Battlement Mesas in Colorado will become very treacherous over the next couple of days, and a Winter Storm Warning is now in effect until 9:00 AM Wednesday for Uncompahgre Plateau/Dallas Divide in Colorado, and an Avalanche Warning effective until 7:00 AM Thursday for Uncompahgre Plateau/Dallas Divide in Colorado.

The following areas are under a Avalanche Warning. These areas are not recommended for travel.

The Park Range

Flat Top Mountains

Ruby Range

Elk and West Elk Mountains

San Juan Mountains

San Miguel Mountains

Rico Mountains
