Unique Places to Visit Around Colorado
I know I tend to like the weird, maybe a little bit out of the box type of things. So I thought why not take a look around Colorado to see what kind of weird places there are that you could visit.
There are so many weird places to go that I had to only choose a few. If I tried to list all of the uniquely weird places we would be sitting here for a long while.
This one I actually went to when I was about 8 years old. I am talking about Tiny Town and Railroad in Morrison, Colo. This is an awesome place to go to for the kids. They have small buildings that resemble a town. You can also ride the train through the town. I am now an adult and I still remember how cool this place was. Did I mention that this year makes 102 years that they have been around!
Canyons of Tthe Ancient in Dolores, Colo. is more historical than weird. But this is a place you must go. This Historical Monument has plenty of archaeological sites in one area. Plus they have museums that you can go learn more about the Anasazi people. This is a place I will be bringing both of my daughters to.
The Paint Mines Interpretive Park in Calhan, Colo looks like it would be something on the front of a Pink Floyd cover. The colors here are amazing. It also shows that there were humans almost 9000 years ago. You will see some natural wonders that you can't see anywhere else. This place is a unique place to go.
The Manitou Springs Penny Arcade is every gamers paradise. Having over 400 games to choose from it makes any gamer drool. Although most of the games no longer take pennies you can still play everything there. They have boxing, pinball, and so much more. Everyone will have a blast going here. You better believe next time I am in Manitou Springs this will be the first place I go.
I didn't even know something like this was even in Colorado. If you don't have the money to go to Asia, head over to the Great Stupa of Dhamakaya in Red Feathers Lake, Colo. Here you will be able to see Buddist architecture at its finest. The stone and concrete that was used are supposed to last 1000 years. It is a symbol of peace and it sits quietly in Colorado. Go check out this unique place that you won't find anywhere else.
Now go out and check out these unique places around Colorado. If you don't you might just regret it.
