Suburban Crashes Into 6 Cars Outside Of East Middle School

An accident that involved six cars sent one to the hospital Friday afternoon outside of East Middle School and Chipeta Elementary according to KKCO.

According to witnesses at the school, a suburban hit the back of a vehicle who was waiting for students to be released from class. The suburban, hit the back of the car and then continued across the grounds.

"It appeared that she [the driver] was passed out,” said witness Becky Jones. “The car kept going faster, going about 30-ish across the park.”

The Suburban ran across 9th and Gunnison where it smashed into a  parked car with two people inside. Then it  hit another car, creating a domino effect of four cars.

"there no students injured during this incident,” said Heidi Davidson with The Grand Junction Police Department. “It’s always scary for parents when they show up to the scene of an accident and see all these emergency vehicles. We try to put out information as soon as possible to let parents know what's going on.”
