Hoverboards have been all over the news as of late. Boards that are catching on fire have been a major discussion at some major colleges across the country.

Hoverboards are booming in the United States. The Associated Press is reporting that more than 30 colleges and universities have banned the motorized scooters.

Reports started coming in about them catching on fire. The colleges are citing warnings from federal authorities about the fire risk, as well as concerns about falls and collisions

Some schools have campus-wide bans, others only are barring them from dorm rooms and campus buildings.

In fact three largest U.S. airlines have also banned hoverboards, citing that they can cause a potential fire danger from their batteries.
