School administrators around the country are pushing for a shorter school week. The reasons why may surprise you.

Many of us are very accustomed to a 5 day a week school schedule. As of late, there are schools that are beginning to go to a more simple plan. A Tuesday-Friday school week, or a Monday-Thursday school week.

According to Yahoo! the main reasoning behind the shorter weeks is financing.

Jeff Martin who is a principal of a High School in Tennessee says:

Even though the school week is shortened. Test scores by students increased. The article goes on to say that missing school time is also down. Parents who need to take kids to doctors appointments or to the dentist now have a day during the week to do just that, without having to pull the kids out of class.
