According to the Grand Junction Police Department Officers were dispatched to Riverside Park at approximately 6:37 pm Saturday in response to a report of possible shots fired.

Officers were able to determine that at least three shots had been fired and thankfully no one was struck but a vehicle that had been parked nearby sustained damage.

Dispatchers from the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center aired a witness description of the possible suspects and their vehicle which was then aired to area agencies.

The vehicle was located in the 1700 Block of Rood Avenue by a MCSO Deputy and Officers with the GJPD responded to the scene and found two males subjects which were identified as Marcos Gomez (20) and Nicholas Guzman (22). Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office where Nicholas was booked on DUI, reckless driving and a weapons offense. Marcos was booked for a weapons offense, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, criminal impersonation and restraining order violation.
