Do you just want to get away for the weekend but don't want to spend the whole time in the car?
I came up with a few things that you could do that are within three hours of Grand Junction. That way you don't have to spend your whole weekend driving just to have fun.
How would you like to go tour a massive castle/mansion? Well, here you can. This spring they will reopen for tours. They are remodeling bringing this beautiful place back to its former glory. This beautiful mansion is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Everywhere you look is beautiful. This is the type of place that will just melt away your stress.
I use to go to Rifle Gap about every weekend when I was growing up. This place has everything. Fishing, Camping, Windsurfing, Hiking, and swimming. This is one place you would be able to spend the whole weekend and have fun the whole time. Grab your camping gear and just hang out.
Head to Moab, Utah and check out the Courthouse Towers. This amazing monument is in the Arches National Park. When you get up close to the towers it's amazing how small it makes you feel. It gives you the feeling like you are standing in front of a huge courthouse. It is one of the most beautiful natural monuments you could see.
The Sky Ute Casino has something for everybody. You can just go with that special someone, or go as a family. They have music, fights, bowling, and an amazing casino floor. Of course, you can't bring the kids out on the casino floor. But this place is home to a lot of fun for a nice weekend.
Do you want to feel the rush of driving fast? Well, Aspen Motorsports Park will be able to help you with that. They will teach you the basics and then you will be able to become the leadfoot that you always wanted to be. This could be done as a date. Or as a weekend trip with the boys. I think I'm going to have to take my brother and father her so they know who the real champ is.
