A recent listener poll on Facebook has revealed what Grand Junction moms really want for Mother's Day.

Of course, Mother's Day is not necessarily about gifts, it's about showing your mom how much you love and appreciate her. Giving her a gift is certainly one way to honor her, but it's not the only way.

We wanted to know what moms in Grand Junction really want for Mother's Day. Some think a gift would be terrific, while others are perfectly happy spending time with family. There is no right or wrong answer, I am just hoping you give your mom what she really wants.

Here are some of the responses we got from Grand Junction moms about what they really want for Mother's Day.

* "TRAVEL ...........trip to Greece"
* "My kids to spend the day with me..we could eat and play board games"
* "To make my daughter smile again after the loss of my grandson"
* " A new swamp cooler to replace the one my son mangled yesterday "helping" me twist a rusted bolt instead of listening to me about using liquid wrench to loosen it first"
* "Someone...kids, husband, in-laws, anyone to actually get me, or make me something, or take me out. Just realizing, hello, I'm a mother"
* "Spending time with my family. Working full-time plus makes it difficult"
* "  It’s our tradition that we go together and buy flowers and we all spend the day planting them together. Having fun and joking around"
* "Massage"
* "Desktop Inflatable Tube Man"
* "Watch the Sunrise on the monument, time together is the best gift"
* "A home cooked family sit down dinner with no electronica!"
* "To have a good day with my beautiful girls with no fighting"
* " A facial and my nails done"
* " Access to a buffet for about 2 months"

As you can see, it's different strokes for different folks, but the point is, it is important that every single mother is honored in some way.

Is she in a nursing home or care facility? Pay her a visit and spend some quality time with her on Mother's Day.

Does she live far away? Send a card with a hand-written expression of love -- and give her a call and let her know how much she means to you.

Does she live across town or in the county? Take her out for Sunday brunch.

Does she attend church without you? Make a point to be with her in church on this day.

Does she like gifts? By all means, get her something special for her day.

Don't forget your spoken words are priceless to a mother. Moms, regardless of their age, tend to have some insecurities about their kids and how they raised them. Many moms would do things differently. But, regardless, nothing would mean more to a mom than hearing from your mouth how much she means to you, how much she has impacted your life, how much you love her, and how much you want and need her in your life.
