There is a video that is circulating online and it has lots of people getting angry no matter what side you are on. The video shows a dog riding in the back of a pickup truck unrestrained as it was traveling down the highway.

You have professionals that work with animals all day urging people to not put dogs in the back of a truck unrestrained. Then as expected you have people saying that they have had their dog in the back of their truck for years and the dog loves it. And finally, you have people saying that it should be illegal for dogs to ride in the back of a pickup truck unrestrained.

This topic is very difficult because again you're probably not going to change anyone's mind on the topic and whenever you discuss the topic of dogs, you're talking about people's family members.

In the state of Colorado, our laws say that a dog can legally be in the back of a pickup truck without being restrained, the tailgate can even be down. Now if the animal dies or is injured due to an accident there could be charges to face. It wouldn't be shocking to see animal activists pushing for laws to get more strict as far as dogs in the back of trucks here in Colorado.

What do you think, should dogs be allowed to be unrestrained in the back of trucks here in Colorado? Or do you think that should become illegal for the safety of the animals?
