Kitten Killed by Being Thrown Out of a Window in Colorado
A kitten was allegedly killed by being thrown out of a window of a moving vehicle on I-25 in Colorado.
I'd like to start off by giving a fair warning that if you are an animal lover like me, this story will likely disgust, sadden and infuriate you.
The incident happened on Monday, May 3rd in Colorado Springs, where a witness saw someone dangling a small cat out of the window of an SUV that morning, and later threw the poor, defenseless animal out of the vehicle.
The vehicle in question was traveling north on I-25 through the city of Colorado Springs. Having worked in Colorado Springs for a few years at one point, I can attest to the fact that the speed limit is typically 65 miles per hour on the stretch of I-25 that runs through the city.
The SUV has been described as either a gold or silver Ford Escape, but it would appear that little more is known about the vehicle being driven by the people that committed this horrible act of cruelty toward the kitten.
A witness swiftly called Animal Law Enforcement officers to report the incident, who were then dispatched to the scene near the Garden of the Gods exit on I-25. Although the vehicle was long gone at the point of their arrival, authorities did find the kitten on the side of the interstate highway deceased.
The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region has said that if the perpetrators are tracked down, they will likely, and rightfully, in my opinion, be charged with animal cruelty.
