November’s Games With Gold: Guerrillas, Vikings and Pinatas on Xbox

Xbox will be throwing one heck of a Thanksgiving party -- there will even be a pinata.

Xbox's Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb has revealed on his website that a new indie Xbox One game and two Xbox 360 titles will be a part of November's free offerings through the Games With Gold Program. Starting on Nov. 1 until the end of the month, Xbox One owners with a Gold subscription to Xbox Live will be able to download Crazy Viking Studio's Volgarr the Viking. This title comes straight from the ID@Xbox initiative and is heavily inspired by side-scrolling retro games.

Starting on Nov. 1, Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise will be available for Xbox 360 owners who have a Gold membership to Xbox Live. This game will be available until Nov. 15. Viva Pinata is an open-ended sandbox game inspired by the likes of Animal Crossing and The Sims. From Nov. 16-30, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to download Red Faction: Guerrilla for free. Red Faction is an open world, third-person shooter. These offerings are a bit lackluster compared to previous months and we hope that Xbox steps things up once December comes around.
