It's probably the last thing that people wanted to hear in Mesa County, but announced today we have new restrictions to follow that are coming down from Mesa County Public Health. According to KKCO, with the surge in COVID-19 cases that we have seen lately that is why the new restrictions are being implemented.

There are specifically three new guidelines that people are being asked to follow in Mesa County and are supposed to go into effect immediately. Here are the three guidelines just put into place:

  1. Outdoor events may occur but must remain under 75 total people in attendance in a designated area or doing an activity.
  2. Personal gatherings are limited to 10 people and no more than two households at a time.
  3. Indoor events may occur but with no more than 25 people in a specific room (Indoor events are described as concerts, receptions, dances, fairs, or celebrations beyond the normal operations of a facility).

It's clear that these new restrictions are being implemented in hopes of lowering the number of positive COVID-19 cases in our area but only time will tell if citizens actually follow the guidelines.

It's been made clear by health officials that many people are forgetting their old habits of social distancing and wearing a mask due to "pandemic fatigue". But health officials are saying that it is more important than ever to be wearing a mask, wash your hands, and continue to practice social distancing.

We will continue to update you if any new restrictions are put in place.
