The Grand Valley was excited as we started opening up retail stores with restrictions, restaurants were allowing customers inside their doors, and the Mesa Mall opened back up.

Unfortunately, that was very short-lived as we learned today that the Mesa Mall has closed their doors once again. We still have restaurants and retails stores open, but there is no word on when the Mesa Mall will open their doors again.

The reason for closing the doors just one day after reopening is the Coronavirus. While it is true that we don't have many cases here in Grand Junction, the mall is choosing to comply with the Governor's amended order to close until further notice.

As you can expect mall employees and retailers would love to open their doors for customers, but right now they are trying to keep everyone as safe as possible.

With no date being set as to when the mall can open up again mall management is asking everyone to be patient and keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on when customers will be allowed back into the Mesa Mall.

There are going to be hurdles to get over as we attempt to get back to normal, but things seem to be moving in the right direction. Fingers crossed we will have the Mesa Mall reopened for good soon and we can get back to supporting local businesses within the mall. We will keep you updated as well as things progress.
