Mesa County Foster Care Meeting to Answer Often Asked Questions
If you have ever wondered about how foster care in Mesa County works or have thought about caring for a foster child, Foster Care of Mesa County is holding an informational meeting tonight (September 7) to answer those questions and talk about why additional foster care families are needed.
There are a number of families who love children and a lot of children who, because of their own family situation, need a temporary family to care for them until their own family, or sometimes a new family, is able. This is why foster care is so important and why families are always needed to care for a child.
Care can be for a day, week, or longer until arrangements can be made to either reunite the child with their family, relatives, or others who are able to provide the love and support the child needs long term.
The informational meeting will have both staff and foster families available to discuss foster care and how rewarding it is for those families. Attendees can then use the information to consider if foster care is right for them.
The meeting is from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday (September 7) at the Department of Human Services building 510 29 1/2 Road Room 1060.
