Grand Junction's Monumental Beer Works has just released a new beer as a tribute to the firefighters battling the Pine Gulch Fire.

The beer, called simply 'Smoke,' was officially released today and is being produced for a limited run. Proceeds from sales of the beer will benefit the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. The brewery had this to say about the new beer:

As fires continue to rage across the United States, we are so thankful for the rain here in Colorado. We are also in awe of the hard work and sacrifices made by wildland firefighters. Today, we release SMOKE, a tribute beer. Proceeds from the sale of SMOKE benefit Wildland Firefighter Foundation, which supports wildland firefighters and their families. We hope to see you all in the taproom today.

The beer's label features a photograph of a woman firefighter by the name of Anna, who is one of the hundreds of firefighters working to put out the Pine Gulch fire burning roughly 18 miles north of Grand Junction and has become the largest wildfire in Colorado's recorded history.

Monumental Beer Works is located at 2575 Highway 6 & 50 Unit C in Grand Junction and is encouraging the community to not only stop by to try the new 'Smoke' beer and help out the cause but also to donate to the Wildland Fire Foundation if you can't make it to the taproom in person.

It's things like this that really make me thankful to live in a community where people truly care about other members of the community and will help out when they can.
