Grand Junction Drivers Should Know About This Road Opening
Heads-up for Grand Junction drivers as we head into the weekend. Four Canyons Parkway is expected to open between F ½ Road and Flat Top Lane, giving locals access to a new stretch of road.
The news comes with a catch: Traffic signal work at 25 Road and Patterson Road will bring lane restrictions and delays for the next two Saturdays. The signal work is part of the overall Four Canyons Phase Two construction. Here’s what the city has planned.

It's a big weekend for the Four Canyons Parkway project in Grand Junction. It’s scheduled to open today, October 9, with one lane in each direction between F ½ Road and Flat Top Lane. Wait, there's more.
On Oct. 10 and Oct. 17, traffic signals at 25 Road and Patterson Road are scheduled to be shut down from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for construction. Westbound Patterson Road drivers also won't be able to turn onto southbound 25 Road during the work. Traffic narrows to 1 lane in each direction, and with the traffic signal turned off, oncoming traffic will not yield.
Where the Road Opens and What Remains Closed
Work continues down the Parkway with connections at Blichmann Avenue, F ¼ Road, and Flat Top Lane, and additional work along this corridor later. Paving and concrete work will continue south of Flat Top Lane near Patterson Road. The city also lists closures on 25 Road between Blichmann Avenue and F ½ Road, and between Blichmann Avenue and Flat Top Lane/Foresight Circle.
F ¼ Road remains closed to through traffic between 25 Road and Zenith Lane.

Remember that the Parkway opening and the intersection work are separate milestones on the timeline. The city will update the project online, but the next two Saturdays (the 10th and 17th) will be slow going, with posted signs and flaggers directing traffic.
