Introducing The Colorado Pollinator License Plate Design Contest Winner

The People and Pollinators Action Network is an organization that is fighting for positive change when it comes to sustainable farming and protecting the habitats of our state's pollinators. One way to help them do so is simple: by purchasing a special license plate.

Today I learned that the PPAN created a contest that would help drivers around Colorado remember to protect native pollinators and their habitats in the very best way: by checking out our plates.

The Pollinator License Plate Design Contest was supported by several politicians across the state, including First Gentleman Marlon Reis, who posted about the winning design on his Facebook page today.

According to the post, over 50 artists submitted designs, and the beautiful winning design by Alain Suel (which you can see for yourself below) will become the new Colorado pollinator license plate, available in 2022 after it moves through the State Legislature.

Suel, a native of Denver, submitted a design that featured a bumblebee and a blanket flower standing out brightly among a teal Colorado background. Reis said in his post that the design:

...in addition to being seen by millions of Colorado commuters each year--will help to generate much-needed funding for pollinator conservation efforts.
