During Movember, you'll most likely be shaving regularly to keep your manliness in order. There's nothing better than a great wet shave to knock that facial forest down, and that's why we went to the pros to find out how it's done.

We teamed up with one of Grand Junction's top barbers, Chris Bejarano of Bejarano's Barbering to do a quick "how to" video on the art of wet shaving because it really is an art.

If you've never had a wet shave done, go, right now, it's a killer experience.

Chris, being the pro that he is, always warns clients who want to learn to wet shave that it's a trick craft, it takes time and practice to learn the technique. You will cut yourself, and end up with nicks. Once you perfect it, there's nothing like it.

So what does it take to wet shave? Well, if you head to your favorite barber, not much, other than getting over some other guy rubbing your face and holding a sharp blade to your jugular -- it takes a bit of getting used to.

But if you want to try this at home, here are a few pointers:

  • If your face is overgrown, first knock it down with a pair of clippers. This will save you from pulling your hair out.
  • Use a pre-shave oil which helps protect your face from the blade.
  • Use a hot towel or shave right after you get out of the shower. The hot towel, or hot water, helps to open the pores and loosen the hair.
  • Lather up good! Use hot shaving cream and a shave brush to help bring the hairs up on end for easy trimming.
  • Stretch the skin. Make sure you're stretching your skin so you don't nick and cut your face.
  • Use short strokes. Take your time and use small, short strokes to keep from slicing your face open.

Take a look at the video above, and below, for more in-depth instructions from Bejarano's Barbering to perfecting the wet shave.
