How Local Jam 18 in Grand Junction Got Its Start
Local Jam 18 is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Edgewater Brewery in Grand Junction. This is how three days filled with 34 bands, aka Local Jam, got its start.
This is Local Jam's fourth year and it originally began because of Jack + Jill wanting to replicate Applefest. Applefest was a family gathering of local musicians with food, family and celebrating local music, according to Greg and Jeff from Local Jam 18.
Greg and Jeff said there's 34 local bands lined up for Local Jam 18 and the music will literally not stop. There's two stages and three days to fit in all of this music. Local Jam is this weekend, Friday through Sunday, at Edgewater Brewery.
Another awesome thing about Local Jam (other than all the music, drinks and food) is that the proceeds go toward HOPE of the Grand Valley. According to their website, HOPE of the Grand Valley:
...provides a hand up, not a hand out: by fostering and encouraging independence for hardworking, low-income families. HOPE of the Grand Valley was founded in 2008 to fill in a very specific gap in our community.
