Grand Junction Restaurant Cuts Hours Drastically to Keep Running
A Grand Junction restaurant serving the valley since the beginning of time has been forced to make considerable cuts to its operating hours.
Denny's at 710 Horizon Drive has cut their normal business hours in half in order to accommodate a shortage of workers.
Big Cut In Hours
You've probably seen a few signs just like this all over the Grand Valley. Businesses, especially those in the service industry it seems, are struggling to keep the engine running. The sign in front of the Denny's on Horizon Drive reads:
To our amazing customers, we are sorry we have to do this, we just don't have the staff to run this restaurant efficiently. So our hours will be changing! But please go see our friends at the Clifton location. They are open till midnight daily.
New Hours at Horizon Drive Denny's
The Denny's on Horizon Drive is now open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please note, this is the Horizon Drive location. The Clifton Denny's still operates until midnight.
The Entire Industry has been Hit
According to restaurantdive.com, 26% of restaurants say they are looking for cooks and line cooks, while 17% are in need of servers and 7% are seeking bartenders. This information was sourced from over 2,400 job postings from over 1,800 restaurants across North America between June 1 and August 22, 2021.
This Sign is a Sign of the Times
Have you tried to hire a plumber lately? How about someone to hang drywall? They exist, but most are booked months out. I found myself in a real jam with a remodel when I couldn't even hire crews to do small projects. Thanks to a lack of any other choice, accompanied by my Youtube PHD in the field of home repair and remodeling, the job was executed the hard way. After pulling in favors from every friend I have the project finally reached resolution.
Support Your Local Businesses
Even though visiting a Grand Junction restaurant can be a little more challenging than it used to be, I still take my business to them whenever I can.
