Imagine spending your workday soaking up rays while safeguarding the lives of enthusiastic swimmers and beach goers. Turn your "day at the office" into a "day at the pool." Grand Junction needs you.

Grand Junction isn't exactly known for its lavish beaches. We do, however, have community pools. The nice thing about a pool vs. an ocean would be, no sharks!

Have you ever thought of being a lifeguard? Grand Junction Parks and Recreation has the summer job you've dreamed about. Lifeguard training is back! If you would like to make a difference, give some thought to this opportunity.

Here are five solid reasons from ilifeguard.net why you should jump at the chance to be a lifeguard.

  • Make a difference
  • Learn how to save lives
  • Stay in shape
  • Become a part of a team
  • Improve your resume

The final training session for the year is coming up May 30. Training will last through July 2, with classes running from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.
