Pets of the Week: Say Hello To Spring By Adopting A Homeless Pet In Grand Junction

It's a great time of the year with the weather warming up, and it's the perfect time to find your new best friend in Grand Junction.

This week our friends at Roice-Hurst Humane Society are featuring three homeless pets that are hoping the arrival of spring brings a new home and a family to love. Take a look at the pets of the week, and see if one is tugging at your heartstrings.

Harriet's Story

In early February, a 4-year-old black cat named Harriet was found  - matted and lost outside of a grocery store in Greeley. She was shaved and put up for adoption but wasn't successful in finding a home in Weld County, so she was transferred to Roice-Hurst a couple of weeks ago.

Here's the thing. Harriet is a sweetheart who loves to be petted, brushed, and played with. She loves humans and gets along well with other cats. If you are looking for an affectionate cutie to add to your family, Harriet's your girl.

Rescued From Cruelty/Abandonment Case in Delta

There is something amazing about Comet. He was rescued from a cruelty/abandonment case in Delta, but despite his rough past is still sweet and trusting of humans. Comet seems to do well with other dogs, but if you already have one, it's probably a good idea to do a meet and greet before finalizing the adoption.

15-Pound Chunk of Love

Lardaceous is a beautiful male cat who was also a transfer from Weld County. He's very friendly and outgoing and has been described as a "15-pound chunk of love." Lardaceous can get overstimulated easily and will let you know when he's had enough love. He's probably best in an adult-only home without other pets.

Kitten Shower

Don't forget about the Kitten Shower at Roice-Hurst coming up on April 2. It's kitten season and they are expecting hundreds of kittens and they'll be in need of things like kitten formula, kitten bottles, heat disks, baby blankets, baby wipes, litter, kitten food, and other kitten-related supplies.
