When tragedy strikes, there is nothing that Grand Junction does better than coming together as a community. With the loss that Grand Junction High School has experienced this past week, Fruita Monument High School put their rivalry aside and stood by GJHS.

On Wednesday, November 2, GJHS lost one of their students, 17-year-old student, Jose T Bueno. It did not take the community long to respond and offer a helping hand in any way that they could for the school and his family. FMHS was no exception. They were quick to respond and give their support to their rival school.

FHMS posted signs all around the school to show love and support to GJHS:

"Cats Gotta Stick Together"
"FMHS loves (heart symbol) GJHS"
"Love yourself. Love each other"
"We are here 4 you"
"You are worthy. You are loved"
"We may be your biggest rivals... But we're your biggest supporters"
