Gov. Polis Pushing To Allow Bars Open Until 4 A.M. After Pandemic

It has been horrible seeing so many bars and restaurants barely keeping their doors open during this pandemic. But according to 4 CBS,  Governor Jared Polis is now saying that he is going to push for bars to stay open until 4 a.m. after the coronavirus pandemic is under control here in the state of Colorado.

Even with a push from the governor, this would need to be approved by the legislature at local discretion. It was back in July when Governor Polis issued all bars to now have last call at 10:00 p.m. for 30 days to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, especially with people in their 20's. Last month he allowed bars to now stay open until 11:00 p.m. and that is set to expire on September 21st, unless he wants to extend that again.

Governor Polis was quoted as saying, "I think coming out of the crisis there'll be more freedom, less red tape less restrictions."

I'm not sure how to feel about this because I haven't been out to even see 2:00 a.m. as last call in a long time. Just being honest, I am in bed way before that time. If it helps local businesses recover from the lack of profits earlier in the year it could be great. But I also worry about more drunks being on the roads as people are getting up to go to work. But there is not much you can do to change someones mind about driving drunk, they could do that at all hours of the day.
