After 6 Years, Colorado Loses Another Beloved Brewpub
A brewpub in Colorado, that at one point was set to build a new, bigger brewery and pub, turned those plans completely around and closed. It was this town's very first brewery; it was a great restaurant. Luckily, there is a bit of good news.
It's getting rough out there, it seems, for small brewers to stay afloat, but this situation really comes down to a cumulation of several things, not the industry itself. This town is really going to miss this place: the beer, the food, the friendships, and the community spirit that the brewpub exuded.
Honestly, I feel really bad that I hadn't heard about this closure until recently. I think it's a big deal, but I'm not seeing anybody talk about it, on a wider Northern Colorado scale. When you consider how popular they were, you would expect more exposure to their closing down.

I'm sad to let you know, if you didn't already, that G5 Brew Pub in Severance is no longer. As a matter of fact, a new Mexican restaurant has already taken its place at 1018 Mahogany Way. It does make sense that a restaurant would go into the space as it was a restaurant before G5 came in, back in 2016. The point of the matter is that G5 closed up in October of 2022. How could this information have slipped me by?
While it's true that not a whole lot of people outside of the Severance/Windsor area had been into G5, they had been very, very popular. I remember a fun story about how they were featured on the TV show, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" in 2019.
WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE NEW PLACE PLANS?
Though the owners Jeremy and Tammy Gourd were excited about their plans for a new facility right across the road, things just didn't work out, for it to get off the ground. Add in the fact that the couple was ready to retire and "live their lives," and it just became time to just shut it all down.
Most of it.
WHAT DO THEY STILL HAVE IN OPERATION?
Their great food trailer. I remember seeing it last summer at BobStock in Fort Morgan. You can schedule it for your event; they'll come out with great burgers, sandwiches, BBQ, and more.
You can try checking out Vencinos, where G5 used to be.
