If I were someone who was getting married soon, I have little doubt that I would be thinking about a honeymoon destination that offers a warmer climate than what we are currently experiencing in Western Colorado. But I realize that the perfect honeymoon doesn't necessarily feature 80 degree days. With Grand Junction's 2013 Bridal Fair coming up this Saturday at the Doubletree by Hilton, I thought it would be a good time to offer some suggestions for honeymoon destinations for both warm weather and cold weather lovers.

Bora Bora is one of the the Tahiti Islands and has been called the most beautiful and the most romantic island in the world, with perfect white sand beaches, emerald water, colored fish, and coral gardens. Beyond the fun on the beach are wonderful opportunities in the water: snorkeling, diving, outrigger canoe, jet ski, and sunset cruises aboard a catamaran sailboat. Here’s where you can grab your own Tahiti Destination Wedding Planner.

Maui

How could you go wrong  with a honeymoon to the Hawaiian Islands? Maui is simply beautiful. The Road to Hana is a scenic highway that twists through lush rain forest, cascading waterfalls and past Maui's dramatic northeast coastline. Kaihalulu, the Red Sand Beach, is a clothing optional beach, and it's remote location makes it a coveted destination for nude sun bathers. Wailea Beach is another great option with swanky hotels, warm stretches of white sand, and amazing sunsets.

Point Loma

If  relaxing on the beach isn't your top priority, Venice is a long-standing and popular honeymoon destination. Take a romantic row with a gondolier through the popular Grand Canal,  enjoy photo opportunities on the Rialto Bridge with shopping on either side, visit one of Italy's oldest Opera houses, the Teatro La Fenice, and experience the charm of Venice at many historical destinations.

If staying  close to home is priority and a winter honeymoon is appealing, Bear Creek Lodge in Telluride, Colorado is a romantic destination that won't require a day of travel. Condominiums feature gas fireplaces, gourmet kitchens, and entertainment centers. The lodge in Telluride features ski in and ski out access, three hot tubs, pool and spa, and daily offering of wine and appetizers for guests. Of course, the scenery surrounding Telluride, CO  is breath-taking and there's plenty of winter activities besides skiing, including snow shoeing, ice skating, and snowmobiling.
