DUI Enforcement Increasing in Colorado Over Thanksgiving
DUI enforcement is increasing in Colorado over Thanksgiving. The increase is part of the Colorado Department of Transportation's The Heat is On campaign.
I'm among many people who are expecting guests over the Thanksgiving holiday. With the influx of people over the holiday, Colorado State Patrol and CDOT are increasing DUI enforcement to keep roads safe from impaired drivers, according to KKCO.
From November 17 through November 27, The Heat Is On. The Heat Is On is an ongoing campaign that 111 agencies are taking part in.
101 agencies arrested 522 impaired drivers in a ten day period last year, according to KKCO. Mesa County had a total of 15 arrests during the ten day period last year.
The last time I checked, there have been no arrests reported during the current ten day enforcement period, which began on November 17.
Please remember to be safe over the holiday, If you're too impaired to drive -- don't drive. It could cost you, in more ways than one.
