Driving in Snowy Colorado Can Be Scary

If you are anything like me when it comes to driving, I drive all over Colorado on a weekly basis. The longer I’m here in Grand Junction the more I realize how many people are making the same commute as I am.

From Grand Junction to Denver, to Denver to Grand Junction. It gets to be a lot at times. I’ve also realized that this drive back-and-forth has been a blessing. Every week is a new picture.

I have been fortunate to see an eagle more than once, a mountain lion, bighorn sheep, a gorgeous blue jay, and of course deer. I’ve witnessed the most beautiful, breathtaking moments in nature. Yet, on the other hand, I’ve experienced some incredibly frightful ones as well.

I’m concerned now that snow is coming and the roads are becoming more dangerous. My heart drops when I hear that I-70 is closed.

Being prepared to drive in the Colorado mountains when the weather is bad is essential. I may not know much, but one thing I do know is how to drive well and smart.
