A COVID-19 outbreak at an assisted living facility in Grand Junction has been confirmed. The coronavirus outbreak started a week ago and the source is unknown.

According to KKCO, the first COVID-19 outbreak in Mesa County has been confirmed by Mesa County Public Health. The coronavirus outbreak happened at an assisted living facility in Grand Junction and started a little over a week ago.

Four residents and three staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 at Grandview Care Lodge in Grand Junction, according to KKCO. Two people from outside the facility have tested positive as well and according to KKCO, this makes a total of 10 cases of COVID-19 at the facility.

The Executive Director of Mesa County Public HElath, Jeff Kuhr says that there may be more cases and they're waiting on the test results to find out. According to Mesa County Public Health's website, there are currently 11 positive COVID-19 cases in Mesa County and seven people are currently hospitalized in the county.

There have been a total of 175 positive COVID-19 cases in Mesa County and a total of 8,731 tests have been given. According to KKCO, it takes about a month for the outbreak to be considered over and the investigation is still active.

We hope that there won't be any more COVID-19 cases tied to this outbreak and that everyone that tested positive makes a speedy recovery.
