Conquering My Fears And Giving Blood
This was a huge moment in my life for me. The last time I willingly gave blood I was still in high school.
This all happened out at the farmers market in Grand Junction. I don't know what came over me I just felt like I should give blood.
I am actually really afraid of needles that go into your veins. Having a major injury would do that to a person.
Granted, I do have plenty of tattoos but those needles are different. They aren't going into my veins.
I was also told by one of the nurses while I was giving blood that I had a really rare blood type. My blood is O negative meaning that anybody can use my blood. What that means for me is that I need to start giving some more blood since it's used universally.
Those of you who are scared to give blood I am here to tell you that it really isn't that bad to do.
I was terrified to have the needle sticking in my arm drawing blood out of it. I also know that after doing that I will be giving blood more often. Did I mention I also got a really cool shirt after doing it?
You should too.
