The mask mandate in Colorado has been extended for another 30 days due to the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases.

Governor Jared Polis gave an update on COVID-19 in Colorado today and according to him, there are currently 1,060 hospitalizations in Colorado right now due to COVID-19. Governor Jared Polis stated that COVID-19 is very prevalent in Colorado right now and that about 1 in 105 people have coronavirus.

Since COVID-19 cases are increasing here in Colorado, Governor Jared Polis has extended the statewide mask mandate for another 30 days.

According to CBS4, Governor Jared Polis stated that:

Each of us has a responsibility to do what's best. We must change our behavior to latten the curve.

Governor Jared Polis also stated that's it's more important than ever before to wear a mask at the store, at restaurants, and at the workplace. It not only protects you but also protects others.

COVID-19 in Mesa County

There are currently 27 people hospitalized right now in Mesa County due to COVID-19. In Mesa County there have been 1,112 positive cases of COVID-19 in our county alone, bringing the total amount of positive coronavirus cases to 2,443.

A total of 59,946 coronavirus tests have been given in Mesa County. Tuesday seems to be the busiest day at the community sampling site and the turnaround time is 48-72 hours, according to Mesa County Public Health.
