Colorado’s Tick Population Increases After Wet Spring
Spring has sprung here in Fort Collins and TheDenverChannel.com is reporting that the hiking community and medical community are warning of a major increase in the tick population.
Experts say the "moist" spring we've been having will contribute to the increase. Ticks can carry diseases and can be fatal especially in young children or pets. The bug lives on blood of mammals, birds and other animals.
Ticks can live in both high and low elevation spots. Experts warn that they can still be found lurking around the fields and parks here in Fort Collins.
